Notes:

  1. In the 8th Std, Part. l, Chapter – lV – ‘Basic Constituents of Matter’, 1. ‘Balancing of Chemical Equations’ has been explained without explaining about a Chemical Formula and a Chemical Equation.
  2. A thorough knowledge of writing a ‘Chemical Formula and Chemical Equation’ are necessary for ‘Balancing Chemical Equations’.
  3. Writing a Chemical Formula is explained only in the 9th Std. The Variable Valency of Copper and Iron and the Chemical Names of Compounds like CuSO4, Cu(NO3)2, FeSO4 and FeCl2 are not explained.

Our recommendation

We suggest that ‘THE LANGUAGE OF CHEMISTRY’, ‘PLAYWAY METHOD’ be introduced as a hand – book in the 7th Std. The students would be able to write ‘Symbols, Chemical Formula and Balanced Chemical Equations’, easily and correctly. Certainly, they would enjoy learning Chemistry.
