National Council of Educational Research and Training — Department of
Education in Science and Mathematics, New Delhi. 1 July 2008.
A copy of the kit and the kit manual, Language of Chemistry by Play-way Method,
was sent to the Director, NCERT. The reply — reference 1936/DESM, dated
1 July 2008, from Dr. Ruchi Verma, Lecturer, Department of Education in Science
and Mathematics — comments:
It is a good attempt for using play-way method in teaching of language of
Chemistry.
Activities given in the manual are thought provoking.
This is well appreciated that suggested activities follow step up procedure and
guidelines for self-assessment are given in the activities.
These three sentences are quoted verbatim from the letter, checked against the
original on 2 September 2026. An earlier version of this page quoted the first of
them in tidied-up wording — “for using ‘Play-Way Method’ in the teaching of ‘The
Language of Chemistry’” — which is not what the letter says.
The letter describes itself as “the comments/suggestions of NCERT”, and this
page describes it the same way rather than as an appreciation — it contains
appreciation, which is not the same as being one.
It is not accreditation, not approval of the book as a prescribed text, and not a
current or ongoing endorsement.
